2012 Florida State Parks Photo Contest winners announced

Tallahassee, Florida -- The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Florida Park Service recently announced the winners of the 2012 Florida State Parks Photo Contest and the first place photo was taken right here in Dunedin at Honeymoon Island State Park by Jose Ramirez.

Second place went to Looking Up by Carmen Welbon at Blue Spring State Park.

Dunedin, Florida -- In a second 2012-13 installment of creative stART! the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s K-5 Pinellas County Schools art showcase, a number of talented area students were chosen for special recognition.

16th annual Dunedin Fine Arts Festival this weekend

Dunedin, Florida -- This weekend, art enthusiasts will come together to check out the best the nation has to offer at the 16th annual Dunedin Fine Arts Festival.

The festival will feature 150 of the country's most talented artists showcasing a broad spectrum of mediums including sculpture, photography, glass, paintings, ceramics, jewelry, mixed medium and more.

Heritage Village hosts historical writing workshops

Pinellas County, Florida -- Have you ever wanted to write a novel? Do you have an interest in historical settings?

Award-winning author Angela T. Pisaturo will continue to host workshops at Heritage Villages on the topic of writing history into a novel. The first workshop is on Friday, Jan. 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Each three-hour workshop will be unique and will show participants how to find the information needed for a novel and then translate it into a work of fiction.

Dunedin, Florida -- The Dunedin Library is holding a Writer's Group on Jan 4.

It's for all serious writers, focusing on novels, short stories, articles, children's books, synopsis for agents, presentation letters, plays and scripts.

It takes place from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The event is free.
